Opened in 1965, One for the Road has 20 bedrooms, a games room, and a lounge where our residents can socialise and reminisce about the jobs they pulled.
Day care
This is for those who are less in need of care. It might be for tasks such as eating or washing, or simply for extra company—somewhere to enjoy activities and spend time with friends in a safe and supportive environment.
Nursing care
For people who need nursing care if they have certain physical conditions. This might include those with long-term conditions, those who need rehabilitation, or those with physical disabilities.
Visiting
You will need to book a visit for any old lag you’re planning to see and meet and talk with our residents in our cafe or dining room.
Residential care
For those who need help with daily activities such as eating, washing, dressing and getting around.
Directions
By road
The driving distance between London and Southend-on-Sea is 42.2 miles. Travel time is 1 hour and 3 minutes by car. Take the A13 from London. Take the 2nd exit onto A1245. Exit the roundabout onto A127. You have arrived at your destination, on the left.
By bus
There is a regular daily bus service in Southend-on-Sea and from other towns nearby. Three bus companies run the bus services in Southend-on-Sea.
By rail
